Rett syndrome is one of the most frequent causes of mental disability in females, often characterized by a slowing of development, distinctive hand movements, slowed brain and head growth, problems with walking, seizures, and intellectual disability. With only supportive management due to the lack of a cure, novel agents are being studied to assess the safety and efficacy in patients with Rett syndrome. This course will highlight the clinical presentation, diagnostic criteria, and emerging treatments for Rett syndrome.
